Around the Grounds:
Preliminary final last week between Port and Lions was a very tight struggle all day in a low scoring game, but in the end, we seen the Port side get over the line by 17 points and have now earned the right to take on the Cats in the big dance to see who becomes the 2025 Premiers. Ports were best served by Clarke and Mieglich in the back half, Lawson Collins, and the 2 Hanlon boys. The Lions best were Cooper Promnitz, Fuller, Simmons, Ley and Shaun Edwards. Port has been one of the top 2 sides all season and fully deserves the opportunity to have a crack at their 1st premiership since 2008. Good luck to both sides.
Seconds Prelim saw the Cats progress into the GF with a surprise narrow 2pt win over Central, Corey Biddell and Patrick Rees led the way for the Cats, whilst Sam Schiller & Rory Herman were strong all day for Central. The Cats now progress into the GF to play the impressively strong Port team.
Under 18s Prelim, Central were far too good for West, with Brett Champion, Jake Davenport and Peter ‘the Suit’ Jackson leading the way for Central, Westies Ethan Benbow and Caleb Donaldson were their best.
Under 15s Prelim, Lions held off the fast finishing South to win by just 6pts, Jake ‘Red’ Davey and Liam Wright were best for Lions and Leo McInnes and Noah Kruger tried hard for South.
Just remember that there will be security on the gate and that there is no alcohol permitted, so if you do bring it in, you do it at your own risk. The local clubs run the bars inside the ground, so why not support them.
