Around the Grounds:
Round 11 we saw the continued dominance of the Port bulldogs and the Solly Cats.
Port had a very good win over the Lions who were competitive early, but Port found another gear and came away for an easy win.
The Lions have won 1 of their last 5 games, so they certainly have some work to do if they want to have an impact in September.
The Cats had a 14-goal win over Central Augusta with Sumner back in the side after being out for 4 weeks and he never looked as though he had missed any with a fine display up forward kicking 8 goals and along with Davey’s 5 goals, they completely dominated the game.
West had an easy win over South, and they are looking like they could fill that last spot in the 4 if they can maintain that kind of form. Terrelle McKenzie led the way with 5 goals in a polished display for West. Their form has not been that bad in most games.
We all understand that when sides come up against the Cats & Port sides, the scoreboard genuinely does not look too healthy, as they are the 2 superior sides in our competition this season.
Just a reminder that the 2025 Madigan Medal count will be held at Central Augusta Football Club. This event will be held on Monday night, the 1st September. More information to follow.
