Round 13

 West Augusta stormed home kicking 5 goals to 1 in the last quarter to get up and win by a solitary point over Central Augusta. This puts them equally 3^rd on the ladder with the Lions on 10 points with Centrals sitting in 5^th spot on 8 points. West were served well by Jamahl McKenzie & Richie Hobbs & Central by Nick Wedding & the ‘energiser’ Aziel Stuart.

Ports, after a slow start to the game, stormed home to kick 26 goals in their big win over South Augusta. Port were led by two of their power forwards in Blake Hanlon with 8 goals & Adam Coe with 6. Coe & Hanlon were the best for Port, where South better players were hard to find.

The Cats smashed the Lions . Lions were competitive for 3 quarters against the Cats, then we witnessed the Cats turning on the after-burners in the last quarter kicking 9 goals to 1 to see them ending up in front by a big margin of 81 points. Caputo kicked 5 goals while Bearman, Lawson Munzberg & CD7 kicked 3 each, Jono Hayes was BOG for the Cats, Hugo Wallace again was a target up forward with 3 goals and Luke Patterson put in a polished performance to be Lions best.

With 4 rounds to go, it is anyone’s guess how the top 4 will finish. Lions are struggling to win a game at the minute; Westies are certainly the side that has lifted, and Central’s are still finding it hard to put any consistency into their game and this is costing them valuable points.

One thing we know for sure is that the Cats and Ports sides are well above the rest of the competition this season.
