Round 14

Central Augusta caused the upset of the round with a close, but gutsy 5-point win over the hot Port bulldogs to keep their finals hopes alive. Centrals were led by some very good performances from Newchurch, Caleb McKenna, Wedding, Luke Dawson and Brendon Colson. Newchurch led the way with 3g and Colson 2. For Port, Coe again booted 3g and was named Port best player.

Lions bounced back with a huge 81-point win over South. This was helped by some great individual efforts from Wallace with 6 g, young forward Harry Promnitz with 5 g and  Patterson 3 g, who is starting to find his mojo after a long layoff with injury. Lions were well led by Captain Edwards who put in a best a field performance closely followed by Wallace & Promnitz Jr. For South their leading scorer was Double D with 2g.

The Cats travelled to Pt Augusta and again showed why they are on the top of the ladder with a dominant display against Westies with a 79-point win. West having shown improvement over the last month, were no match against the premiership favorites. Lawson Munzberg led the way with 5 g in a BOG performance, Davey was in the goals again with 4 and Caputo stretched his lead with 2g. Westies best was Harrison & Dwayne (the Rock) Colson.

   Just a reminder that the 2025 Madigan Medal count will be held at Central Augusta Football Club. This will be held on Monday the 1^st of September. Clubs will be notified of the cost of meals once we receive information back from Central Augusta. Also, if fully supported by the 3 Pirie clubs, a bus will be provided by the SGL.
