Around the Grounds: Round 16
Games went as expected with Port being too strong for the Lions. Lions certainly did not make it easy for the Bulldogs making them work for the 2 points. Port were well served by McNamara and Coe and the Lions again were led by Wallace with 7 goals.
Solomontown had a 33-point win against a Central, with the difference being the 7 goal second quarter burst from the Cats. Davey again put in a great game along with Munzberg, Warne, Thomson and Renfrey. Centrals best were McKenna & Clark
West finished on top in a low scoring game over South. Best for West were Hayden Warren, Ryan, Gower, Harrison and Bejah. Best for the red and whites were Caleb Ritter, Kildea, Shirley and Tom Clancy.
Remember the Madigan Medal on Monday the 1st September which is being held at the Central Augusta Football Club commencing at 6.30pm
Congratulations to the SGL ‘Team of the Year’ players. Presentations for these will be held at the Madigan Medal count. We hope those selected in this team will be present on the night.
