We witnessed a good win by the West Augusta over South Augusta, who would be very disappointed in the result after their first victory in Round 5. Charlie Ryan was again prominent with 3 goals for West. West led all day to easily account for South
Solomontown had a huge win over Central Augusta in a one act affair. Highlight of the match was the 11 goal dominance by Timmy Sumner and 5 goal haul by Harry Williams helping Sollies steamroll Central by 138 points.
Port completely outplayed the Lions .Darcy Puddy had his kicking boots on again reaping 5 goals in Port’s 112 point demolition of the reigning premiers
Sollie’s and Port certainly are the 2 teams to beat, and at this early stage of the season, would be warm favorites to play off in the big game in September.
Hopefully after the week’s break, the teams can regroup and you never know in this game, things can change around quickly.
Abusive language at our games by players, Coach’s or Officials, this will not be tolerated. Remember, you can be reported and suspended. Spectators are also reminded that they can be evicted from the oval. We have a lot of families that enjoy their day at the football, and they do not want to hear or see this kind of behavior.
The Country Championships will be held in Port Pirie on the 11th, 12th & 13th July.
Northern men & women play their 1st game on the Friday night, the 11th of July. We will see the best country players in the state represent their zones. This is a brilliant weekend of football, and it is well worth coming along and watching…
