Around the Grounds: Round 8

Again we witnessed the power of the 2 big guns

Solomontown had a huge win over the Lions who really are battling with injuries, but as they say, that is football and it does give other players the chance to prove themselves.

Port completely outplayed the battling South Augusta team. In the other game, West Augusta came out with the right attitude and inflicted a surprise win over Central Augusta who again showed their inconsistency after the week before, looking good in defeating the Lions. Maybe they struggle on bigger grounds, as they certainly play well when they are at home on ETSA oval.

This week we congratulate Kurtis Edwards from the Lions on reaching 200 SGL games and becoming a playing Life Member of the Spencer Gulf Football League. It has been a battle for Kurtis as a couple of times he has seriously thought of giving the game away, which has seen him have a rest from the game, but in the end, he has decided to make another effort and now, finally made it. He certainly has made his club, family and supporters in general very proud of his achievements. Congratulations!!!
