Central Augusta’s 22.12 (144) to 10.9 (69) win over PropRisdon was a convincing result, although unfortunately overshadowed by a serious injury and lengthy delay.

Port recorded another comfortable win, defeating West Augusta 17.10 (112) to 6.6 (42).
Port: Baylin Crouch 4, Thomas Faulkner 3
Lawson Collins, Tyler McKenzie, Thomas Faulkner were Port better players
West Augusta: Hayden Warren 3, Tyron Warren 2
Raymond Stapleton, Maxie Woodforde were West’s better players.
Lawson Collins continued his strong form with another outstanding performance, while Faulkner backed up his three goals with a great contribution.

Solomontown produced a demoralising 22.11 (143) to 10.6 (66) victory over third ranked South Augusta, dominating the contest from start to finish. South Augusta were never really in the hunt as Solomontown put together a commanding performance.
Solomontown: Jamie Kovacic 5 goals, Lawson Munzberg 5 goals
Tyson Weber & Mason Munzberg were among the best players
South Augusta: Ryan Irvine 2 goals and Paparella 2 goals
Mitchell French, Joe Beattie were amongst Souths better players
Webber was outstanding for Solomontown, while the 2 Munzberg’s made major contributions at both ends with Lawson kicking five goals and Mason sent a message with a strong ruck performance.
Round 16 Preview
Central Augusta take on West Augusta at ETSA Oval, with fourth position on the ladder firmly in the balance. Central Augusta comes into the clash in very good form, while West Augusta have not tasted victory since Round 13. The Bloods are loaded with quality across the field, and I don’t believe the Hawks have the depth or firepower to match them. Central have plenty of class, with the likes of Tariek Newchurch, McKenna, Johnson and Williams likely to make life very difficult for West Augusta. The Bloods are coming off an impressive win over Lions, while West suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Port. I just can’t see the Hawks having enough firepower to stay with Central Augusta for four quarters. The Bloods should come away comfortable winners and further strengthen their hold on a spot in the top four.
Port travel to Central Oval to take on South Augusta in what shapes as an important Round 16 clash. The Bulldogs come into the game in strong form after a big win over West Augusta, while South are coming off a disappointing loss to the Cats. Port look to be hitting their straps at the right time of the season as they prepare for finals. They have plenty of quality across the ground, with Lawson Collins, Tyler McKenzie and Tom Faulkner all in good form. There is also a chance Hanlon could return this week, which would further strengthen an already impressive Bulldogs outfit. South Augusta, on the other hand, appear to be struggling for consistency at the moment. Some of the players who were performing strongly earlier in the season haven’t quite been able to produce the same level of football in recent weeks. Joe Beattie continues with his good form, while Kriston Thompson has been covering several positions over the ground and doing a very good job. However, it is difficult to see South, currently sitting third, being able to match the second-placed Bulldogs given their recent form. Port have the confidence, depth and firepower to control this contest. I expect Port to come away with a comfortable victory and continue their strong build-up towards the finals.
The Cats take on the Lions at Memorial Oval on Saturday, with the two sides coming into the clash from very different positions. The Cats are coming off a big win over South Augusta, while the Lions suffered a huge loss to Central Augusta. The Cats’ form has been impressive all season, and I can’t see that changing this weekend. The Cats should be strengthened further, with the two Hayes boys expected to return, while Corey Davey could also be back in the side. That gives the Cats even more firepower heading into the clash. For the Lions, getting a strong side on the field continues to be a struggle, and they will also be without Etto after he suffered a serious injury last weekend. For me, the Cats simply have too much class and depth across the ground. I expect them to be comfortable winners
